Alright. Let’s get you up to speed.
There’s one point in Stranger than Fiction where Dustin Hoffman’s character instructs Will Ferrell’s character to stay home and do nothing. The idea is that the story that ends with his death can’t move forward if Ferrell doesn’t allow the plot to continue.
It’s true and it’s terrible! I did nothing today, and nothing happened.
I sat in my bedroom, waiting for some response to all the emails and texts I’ve sent into the ether on behalf of my music.
I tried to think productive thoughts, but I couldn’t even do that, because deep inside I was just waiting for somebody else to make a move.
Then that scene from Stranger than Fiction came back to me. I had never given it a second thought before.
We’ve gotta move the story forward, people!
